THE OLDEST PAINTING IN SUCURAJ

In the church of St. Anthony is a painting of St. Pascal, Madonna Kremlin and St. Rock. The painting is probably the work of master Fillip Nadi from the 18th century. The painting came to Sucuraj when the Frank monarchs came fledging the Turks from the coastland. (click on photo to enlarge)

PAINTERS - AMATEURS

In Sucuraj are few amateur painters: Josip Slavic, Roko Grubic, Sveten Godinovic-Kika, dr. Pavao Piacun, Zlatko Jelicic, Joze Vuljan and Ivan Vuljan who occasionally have painting exhibitions. The paintings can be seen in various locations in Sucuraj, and some are donations to the Church. The paintings are displayed in the churches of St. Anthony and St. George.

SUMMER ATELIER ''VUJNOVIC''

In the summer of 1997 a summer sculpture school was opened and led by a young sculptor Ivona Biocic (grandfather from Sucuraj).  Three sculptures were made, and in 1999 they placed in the middle-town park. In August 1998 the brothers Vujnovic opened the ''Summer atelier Vujnovic'', academic sculptor Anita Sulimanovic and academic painter Frane Rogic from Zagreb worked there. This summer atelier worked in summer 1999 and 2000.
