 The people from Sucuraj are famous
fishermen from ancient times. The tradition still goes on today. Sucuraj has
a fleet of 10 big fishing boats called – kocha. Fishermen from Sucuraj fish
the whole Adriatic, and  their catching are sold in many Croatian towns
and exported to the European Community. The people from Sucuraj also fish the
area surrounding the town in small fishing-boats. Almost every family in the
town has a boat and occasionally everybody goes fishing for himself or
herself or as a sport. Sucuraj has got a good harbour, safe from all winds
and full of various boats. In Sucuraj there are two plants for salting
sardines, these salt-sardines are sold around the world. In two bays near
Sucuraj (Mrtnovik and Duboka) there are maricultural plants.
 The people from Sucuraj work a
traditional Adriatic agriculture. Sucuraj is famous for its top quality olive
oil and good wine. The town has two plants that make olive oil, every family
has got quality oil for themselves and some of it is sold. Most of them have
win yards and cellars in witch  they make good wine for tourists
and themselves. Sucuraj has a winery that produces high-quality white and red
wine (Oka vina and Plame) and various traditional alcohol drinks. There are
also figs, and Sucuraj dry-figs are of particularly quality. In Sucuraj there
are lemons, oranges and nectarines, and other agricultural cultures that
people grow for there own use (potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, beans…).
